A Conversation with Caleb

As we're arriving at church to pick up Reyna from AWANA this week...

Me: Caleb let's get your shoes on to go get Reyna.
Me: Caleb where's Mommy's nose?

Caleb: points to his nose

Me: That's Caleb's nose. while pointing to myself -- Can you say Momma?

Caleb: ma ma

M: Goooood. while pointing to Caleb -- Can you say Caleb?

C: da da (interpretation -- "Caleb")

M: very slowly - Caleb. Are you ready to go get Reyna?

C: smiles big and nods head up & down

M: Caleb, can you say Reyna?

C: nayna

M: Good!

We finally have both shoes on and are getting out of the car.

C: Qa Qa (interpretation -- Quack Quack)

M: Do you see some ducks?

C: smiles big and nods head up & down -- Qa Qa (interpretation -- Quack Quack)

M: I don't see any ducks.

C: Da Da (interpretation -- Ducks)

M: Yeah, Daddy went bye bye.

C: Da Da (interpretation -- Bye Bye)

It's pretty cute that Caleb's starting to talk quite a bit, but his favorite things to say are Da Da and Qa Qa. While Qa Qa always refers to ducks quacking, Da Da means just about everything else. He's such a cutie!
